Reading in Freising: With Cliffi to Beaches and Coasts

Musicians Elisabeth Erl and Tina van Wickeren share their travel experiences and insights in their upcoming book 'Unplugged' after a year-long journey through France and the coasts of Spain, Portugal, and Sardinia.

Elisabeth Erl and Tina van Wickeren, two musicians and teachers based in Freising, embarked on an adventure in their camper named Cliffi, alongside their dog Linus and a guitar. After five years of saving, they set off for a year-long journey exploring the diverse landscapes of France, the picturesque Atlantic coastline of Spain and Portugal, and the stunning beaches of Sardinia. Their experiences are documented in a book titled 'Unplugged', which will be published in 2024 by Cooper Verlag.

During their travels, the duo not only gathered stories of their favorite spots but also wrote heartfelt songs inspired by their journey, which are featured alongside photographs in their book. They aim to share their love for travel, music, and the beauty they encountered along the way. On March 5, they will present their book at the city library in Freising, giving locals an opportunity to connect with their journey and possibly draw inspiration for their own adventures.

Both musicians hail from different parts of Germany; Erl from Regensburg and van Wickeren from Kleve in North Rhine-Westphalia. They have been living in Freising for several years now and continue to teach at a local secondary school. Their presentation will not only celebrate their new book but also promote the joy of travel and exploration in the local community.
