Two men die in shootout with police after motorcycle robbery in Pedreira

Two men were killed in a shootout with the police following a motorcycle robbery in Pedreira, São Paulo.

In a violent incident on the evening of February 24, two 25-year-old men died during a confrontation with the Military Police (PM) after allegedly robbing a motorcycle along Rodovia João Beira in Pedreira, São Paulo. The police were called to the scene of the robbery, where the suspects were reported to be armed. Utilizing a tracking system, the police located the suspects, but upon noticing the approaching officers, the two men attempted to flee.

During the ensuing chase, the suspects engaged the police in gunfire, prompting the agents to return fire. According to the São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the officers' response resulted in the deaths of both individuals before medical assistance could reach the scene. Paramedics confirmed the deaths on-site. The motorcycle involved in the robbery was later returned to its rightful owner, while the weapons used in the confrontation were seized by the police.

The matter has since been recorded at the Jaguariúna Police Station, and further investigations may follow to clarify the circumstances surrounding the robbery and the police response.
