Despite being ranked 1050th in the world ranking, Dietrich has made a name for himself in college tennis leagues and holds a commendable second position in the latest NCAA rankings. The match highlighted the competitive nature of the Challenger circuit where local talent often faces skilled players from abroad.

During the match, Glinka faced pressure as Dietrich had two break points in the third game of the first set. However, Glinka managed to fend them off and seized a break of serve in the sixth game.
