Revolutionary Army Comes Out in Support of Swami Avimukteshwaranand
Hindu organizations rallied in Muzaffarnagar against a case filed against Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, claiming the charges are politically motivated and false.
In Muzaffarnagar, members of Hindu organizations took to the streets in a protest against a legal case filed against Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. The demonstration was organized by the Revolutionary Army, which conducted a march through the city and delivered a memorandum to the district collector's office addressed to the state government. Protesters chanted slogans denouncing the charges and labeled them as a political conspiracy aimed at discrediting the saint.
Sharad Kapoor, the divisional president of the Revolutionary Army, stated that the charges against Swami Avimukteshwaranand are entirely baseless and accused the accuser, Ashutosh Pandey alias Ashwini, of ulterior motives. The demonstrators expressed deep resentment, arguing that a genuine 'sattvic' saint is being ensnared in a political trap. They emphasized that such actions undermine the reputation of spiritual leaders and question their standing in society.
The protest also reflected broader themes regarding the intersection of politics and religion in India, particularly how the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engages with religious figures and sentiments. Kapoor criticized the BJP for allegedly disrespecting saints despite their rise to power under the banner of Hindutva. This event raises questions about political motivations behind legal actions against religious figures and the potential impact on communal harmony in the region.
