A two-year-old child in Sarandi, Paraná, required medical attention after accidentally consuming paint solvent stored in a soda bottle.
In Sarandi, a city in northern Paraná, a two-year-old child mistakenly ingested paint solvent that was improperly stored in a soda bottle. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, the 24th, prompting immediate action from the mother after she realized the situation. In a desperate bid for help, she carried the child and contacted the police, who were nearby and able to provide urgent assistance.
Upon arrival, the police officers began administering first aid to the child, quickly assessing that the solvent had also entered the child's eye, compounding the emergency. The mother immediately took the child to a nearby Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA), a local emergency care unit, where further medical evaluations took place. Once stabilized, the child was transferred to the Hospital Universitário (HU) in Maringá for more comprehensive treatment.
Fortunately, reports indicated that the child was in stable condition and did not face life-threatening consequences from the incident.
