Driver investigated for hitting and killing cyclists on RS-115 went to a bar and nightclub before the accident, police say
A driver accused of fatally hitting three cyclists on RS-115 had consumed alcohol at local establishments shortly before the incident, according to police investigations.
The Civil Police of Brazil have initiated an investigation regarding a tragic incident where a driver, José Carlos Almeida Bessa, allegedly struck three cyclists on RS-115 in Três Coroas, resulting in the deaths of two women and leaving a man in critically grave condition. The investigation revealed that Bessa, aged 42, visited two establishments where he allegedly consumed alcohol just hours before the deadly accident. The crash happened on the morning of last Saturday, claiming the lives of Clarissa Felipetti and Isac Emanuel Ribeiro da Silva instantly, while their friend, Fernanda Mikaella, succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
