Vaccination D-Day Calendar in Paraíba is Announced

The D-Day vaccination calendar for Paraíba in 2026 has been released, detailing vaccination dates throughout the year and an expansion of dengue vaccination across all municipalities in the state.

The state of Paraíba has announced its D-Day vaccination calendar for 2026, with the first day set to begin on Friday, February 28. The schedule, approved by the Bipartite Interagency Commission of Paraíba, has been published in the State Official Diary, outlining additional D-Days for April 11, June 13, August 15, October 17, and December 12. These designated days will play an important role in orchestrating mass vaccination initiatives to enhance public health across the state.

In a significant move to combat dengue, the vaccination program has now expanded to all 199 municipalities in Paraíba that were previously not included. The dengue vaccination campaign initially commenced in February 2024 but had only focused on 24 municipalities deemed high-risk according to criteria set by the Ministry of Health, which included population size and transmission rates. The broadening of the program is a proactive measure aimed at increasing immunity among residents and reducing the incidence of the disease across the state.

As part of the vaccination strategy, a systematic evaluation of the program's implementation will be conducted 60 days after the start date. This assessment will help identify any challenges and ensure that the vaccination efforts are effective and reach the intended populations, thereby improving public health outcomes. The all-encompassing vaccination campaign reflects an important public health initiative by the government of Paraíba to respond to and mitigate the threats posed by dengue fever.
