First drone-robot delivery in India, high-tech service launched in Gurugram

Skye Air Mobility has launched India's first doorstep delivery service using drones and AI robots in Gurugram.

In Gurugram, a city in Delhi-NCR, Skye Air Mobility has announced a revolutionary delivery service utilizing drones and AI-operated robots, claiming to be the first of its kind in India. CEO Ankit Kumar stated that the company has successfully completed 3.6 million deliveries over the past two and a half years, significantly contributing to reducing carbon emissions by about 1,000 tons. This innovative service demonstrates a new technological leap in delivery logistics, showcasing a complete demo of how the system operates.

During the launch, the process was illustrated: drones deliver parcel boxes to designated mail boxes, from where a robot rover collects the parcels and delivers them directly to the customer's doorstep. This method not only enhances delivery efficiency but also aims to minimize environmental impact. The application of AI in this service presents a strategic advancement in urban logistics, marking a notable milestone in Indiaโ€™s adoption of such advanced technologies.

Looking ahead, Kumar indicated plans for expanding this service into other cities and locations, which suggests a significant movement towards integrating drones and robots into everyday logistics in India. The company's participation in the AI Impact Summit and collaboration with American company Arrive AI further underscores its commitment to innovation in the delivery sector, potentially making a lasting impact on the future of commerce in the region.
