Lee Heon-wook, former president of the Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH), has been inaugurated as the 17th president of the Korea Real Estate Agency during a ceremony held at the agency's headquarters in Daegu. With a background as a public interest lawyer, Lee brings extensive experience in the urban development and housing policy sector, having introduced the 'Gyeonggi Basic Housing' model, a universal long-term public rental housing initiative, between 2019 and 2021 under then-Governor Lee Jae-myung’s leadership.

In his inaugural address, Lee highlighted the critical role of real estate as a foundation for life and a key factor in balanced societal development and sustainable growth. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening the agency's responsibilities, positioning it as a vital public institution linking citizens with the government. The new president expressed his intention to comprehensively reassess organizational structures and operational methodologies within the agency to effectively address the overarching tasks in the real estate sector.
