Marking the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine – End of the Radarom campaign: EUR 4 million raised
The Radarom campaign, which raised EUR 4 million to support Ukraine, concluded with funds allocated for advanced defense technologies including robotic systems for logistics and medical evacuation.
In observance of the fourth anniversary of the war in Ukraine, the Radarom fundraising campaign has raised EUR 4 million, which will be used for the development of advanced robotic defense, logistics, and medical evacuation systems. The initiative was organized by Blue/Yellow, LRT, and Laisvės TV as a means to provide practical assistance to Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict. Donations have been accepted until February 28, offering the opportunity for further contributions to support these essential projects.
Throughout the campaign, various fundraising efforts including auctions and charity concerts were conducted, featuring notable Lithuanian performers and encouraging public participation. Among the highlights, the Aibė retail chain purchased a Ukrainian flag signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky for EUR 60,000, while a Lithuanian flag with the signature of ex-President Dalia Grybauskaitė was sold for EUR 13,000. These auctions not only raised significant funds but also served as symbolic gestures of solidarity with Ukraine during challenging times.
Edmundas Jakilaitis, one of the campaign's organizers, emphasized the importance of the advanced robotic systems that the donations will help procure, highlighting their modern technology and potential impact on the operational capabilities of Ukrainian defense forces. The concert series and continued call for donations reflect a strong commitment within Lithuania to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and security, marking a significant collaborative effort between cultural, media, and charitable organizations.
