ELGA: Compensation of 18.7 million is credited today to the accounts of eligible producers

The Greek Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) is distributing a total of €18.7 million in compensations to eligible producers today.

Today, the Greek Agricultural Insurance Organization (ELGA) is set to deposit compensations totaling €18.7 million into the accounts of eligible agricultural producers. This initiative comes after the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, collaborated with ELGA President Andreas Th. Likourentzos to address the financial impacts on producers who faced crop damages during the year 2025.

Of the total compensation, €18.3 million will be allocated to 8,480 producers whose crops were affected by natural disasters, while an additional €387,000 will be distributed among 168 producers as part of State Financial Aid programs. This financial support is crucial for many farmers who experienced significant losses due to adverse weather conditions and other challenges associated with farming practices within Greece.

The compensations are scheduled to be credited to the producers' accounts today, specifically after 2:00 PM. This timely financial relief is expected to help farmers cope with the aftermath of the damages and resume their agricultural activities without overwhelming debt or financial strain, highlighting the government's role in supporting its agricultural sector during difficult times.
