Younger brother engaged in love marriage, girl's family ran over elder brother's house with JCB

In a disturbing incident in Gwalior district, the family of a girl who married for love attacked the home of the boy's elder brother with a JCB, causing significant damage.

In Gwalior district's Ghengholi village, an alarming situation emerged after a young man, Ramakhan, married Kiran Gurjar, a girl from Sirouli, against their families' wishes. The girl's father, Girraj Gurjar, driven by a 'Talibani' mindset, decided to punish the boy's family for this love marriage. This led him to mobilize a group of accomplices and attack the house of Ramakhan's elder brother, Wania Singh Gurjar, wreaking havoc with a JCB machine.

The brutal assault resulted in substantial destruction, with the attackers demolishing three rooms and the courtyard of Wania Singh's home. During the attack, Wania Singh and his family feared for their lives and managed to flee the scene, as they were being pursued by the aggressors. This episode of intimidation forced the affected family to live in fear, and they were compelled to stay away from their village for five months due to threats from the girl's family.

Upon their return, the victims reported the incident to the police, leading to legal action being taken. The case highlights issues related to honor, family honor, and the extremes that some families may go to in order to assert their values, showcasing the darker side of societal pressures regarding love marriages in rural India.
