New ship in the Greek registry from the Karousis family
The cargo ship Doric Flame has recently raised the Greek flag, adding to the Greek registry.
The cargo vessel Doric Flame, with a capacity of 35,610 dwt and built in 2025, has recently hoisted the Greek flag, enhancing the country's maritime registry. This ship is part of Chios Navigation (Hellas), a shipping company owned by the Karousis family, managed by Konstantinos Karousis and his son Isidoros. Currently, the company's fleet consists of 10 ships with a combined capacity of 1,077,880 dwt, of which two sail under the Greek flag while the remaining eight are registered in Liberia.
Konstantinos Karousis is recognized as a prominent figure in Greek shipping, actively participating in the Board of Directors of the Union of Greek Shipowners and serving on the Greek Maritime Cooperation Committee in London. His involvement highlights the significant role that Greek shipowners play in international shipping circles and the ongoing investment they make in their national maritime industry.
The registration of the Doric Flame in the Greek maritime registry is another indicator of the confidence that Greek shipowners have in flying the Greek flag, which not only strengthens the maritime identity of Chios but also enhances Greece's stature on the global shipping map. This move is expected to boost local maritime activities and promote Greece as a key player in international shipping operations.
