Energy Efficiency: Fluorescent Lines Could Improve Visibility on Roads and Reduce Accident Rates

In Hulu Langat, Malaysia, nearly 250 meters of roadway have been painted with fluorescent green lines as part of a new experimental initiative. The fluorescent paint utilized in this experiment is designed to absorb sunlight during the day and emit a glow at night, making it especially useful in areas lacking proper street lighting. This innovative solution harnesses solar energy, providing an effective means of improving visibility even in adverse weather conditions, such as rain, thereby facilitating safer nighttime travel for drivers.
