Two men, aged 33 and 28, were arrested in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, on suspicion of illegal firearm possession. Their arrest occurred in the Surubi Novo neighborhood on Monday, and the police were acting on intelligence reports indicating that a leader of a criminal faction was hiding in the area. Upon surveillance, police noticed the suspects arriving on a motorcycle and apprehended them during a traffic stop.

During the arrest, one suspect attempted to flee but was quickly detained by officers. The police uncovered a bag containing a pistol, which had its serial numbers ground off, along with a significant cache of ammunition—187 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .380 caliber. This operation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in combating illegal arms activity linked to organized crime in the region.

The arrested individuals, along with the motorcycle and seized materials, were taken to the Resende police station.
