Hospital registers for bone marrow donation in Feira de Santana; find out how to participate
The General Hospital Clériston Andrade in Feira de Santana is organizing a public event for registering bone marrow donors in collaboration with the Bahia Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation.
The General Hospital Clériston Andrade (HGCA) in Feira de Santana, the second-largest city in Bahia, is set to host a bone marrow donor registration drive on Wednesday, the 25th. This event, which is open to the general public, is organized in partnership with the Bahia Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation (Hemoba). During the event, individuals can register as bone marrow donors between 9 AM and 4 PM at the HGCA outpatient clinic, located on Avenida Eduardo Fróes da Mota in the 35º BI neighborhood.
This initiative marks the first time that the Transfusion Agency of Clériston Andrade is focusing specifically on bone marrow donor registration, aiming to raise awareness and encourage more individuals to consider becoming donors. The campaign is targeted at healthy individuals aged 18 to under 35 years, emphasizing the importance of this age group in bone marrow donation, given their likelihood of being compatible and the potential life-saving impact they can have on patients in need.
By promoting this event, the HGCA is not only facilitating life-saving donations but also fostering a sense of community involvement in health initiatives. Those interested in volunteering for this noble cause are encouraged to participate, which highlights the collaborative efforts between hospitals and health organizations to increase donor registries and improve patient outcomes in the region.
