A teenager was off-roading in Aravali, fell into a 100-feet deep gorge
A teenager's off-roading stunt in the Aravali region led to a tragic accident resulting in his death and serious injuries to two others.
In Faridabad's Aravali region, a teenage boy died during a reckless off-roading stunt on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred near Sirohi village when a Mahindra Thar vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Vikas, plunged approximately 100 feet into a gorge, leading to the death of 15-year-old Sohan. Two other teenagers, both from the same locality, were severely injured in the fall. Police confirmed that no FIR has been filed yet as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The deceased, identified as Sohan from Siwan in Bihar, was a ninth-grade student, and the injured are Vikas (20) and Hemant (16), who were also fellow residents of Siwan but had been living in the Balaji Colony of Ballabgarh for some time. Witnesses suggested that the trio had diverted from the main road and traveled about a kilometer into the hilly terrain, where they engaged in dangerous stunts, including taking photos and videos during their reckless driving. The condition of the injured remains critical, raising concerns about the consequences of such dangerous activities.
This incident underscores the risks associated with such reckless behavior, particularly among youths who may not fully comprehend the dangers involved in off-roading. Authorities are now faced with the task of addressing not just the aftermath of this tragedy but also the underlying issue of youth recklessness on the roads and in nature, prompting considerations for stricter regulations or safety awareness campaigns to prevent future accidents.
