Marcos Sacramento and Zé Paulo Becker are set to release an album and perform a show celebrating the 60th anniversary of 'Os afro-sambas de Baden e Vinicius.'

Marcos Sacramento and guitarist Zé Paulo Becker are expanding their partnership with a newly planned show and album that commemorates the 60th anniversary of the significant work 'Os afro-sambas de Baden e Vinicius.' Originally released in August 1966, this album has been influential in Brazilian music, showcasing the collaboration between composer Baden Powell and poet Vinicius de Moraes. In their upcoming project, Sacramento and Becker not only pay tribute to this classic album but also include additional afro-sambas that were not part of the original collection.

The show is scheduled to premiere on March 5 at the Manouche venue in Rio de Janeiro, blending nostalgia with contemporary interpretations of traditional samba sounds. The duo's approach aims to breathe new life into the work while respecting its historical roots, highlighting their dedication to preserving and innovating within Brazilian music. Notably, songs such as 'Berimbau' and 'Consolação,' which are also works by Baden and Vinicius, will enrich the performance, demonstrating the depth of their artistic explorations.

The collaboration marks a significant moment in Sacramento and Becker's careers, as it represents a reunion after more than a decade, following their successful 2012 album 'Todo mundo quer amar.' The anticipation for the show reflects the broader cultural revival of interest in samba and its themes, encapsulating how music continues to be a vital expression of Brazilian identity.
