The sun will shine on Wednesday
Wednesday in Latvia is expected to be mostly sunny with the possibility of light snow in the southeast in the morning.
On Wednesday, the weather in Latvia is forecasted to be predominantly sunny, although a light snowfall is expected in the southeastern regions during the morning. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre, the previous night will see cloudy skies due to a departing cyclone, but these clouds are anticipated to clear from the north throughout the night. Several regions are expected to experience snowfall, with chances of icy conditions particularly in the eastern and central areas, which could lead to reduced visibility during the snowfall.
As the day progresses and the influence of an anticyclone increases, the weather is expected to become mainly sunny and dry after the morning hours. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the north, and the temperatures are predicted to range from -3 to -8 degrees Celsius across various parts of the country. In regions like Vidzeme and Kurzeme, temperatures may drop even further to between -8 and -13 degrees Celsius. In the capital city of Riga, the weather will also be predominantly clear with occasional light snow expected.
Despite the initial forecast of light snow in the southeastern parts, the remainder of the day should see mostly clear skies, allowing temperatures to rise slightly to between +1 and -4 degrees Celsius. The calm winds will not only contribute to a pleasant daytime weather experience but will also make it easier for individuals navigating the roads, even though caution is advised due to icy conditions, particularly in the early morning hours.
