Wednesday will be cloudy and snowy
Weather forecasts indicate mostly cloudy conditions and light snowfall across Latvia on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Latvia is expected to experience predominantly cloudy weather with light snowfall anticipated in many areas, particularly in the southern part of the country later in the day. Weather experts predict that a slow easterly to southeast wind will accompany the weather patterns, contributing to the overall chilly conditions. Maximum air temperatures are projected to range between -4 and -9 degrees Celsius, with some places in the south possibly reaching as high as -1 degree.
In the capital city, Riga, cloudy skies are expected, with snowfall primarily in the evening. The eastern wind will gradually take over from a gentle southeast breeze, while temperatures will rise slightly to around -5 degrees Celsius. The influence of an approaching cyclone from the west is noted, indicating a shift in the atmosphere that could lead to varied weather conditions across the region.
As early as Wednesday morning, cloudy skies are affecting temperatures, which won't drop below -14 degrees Celsius according to meteorological data. The Latvia Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) reports temperatures ranging from -8.2 degrees in Pāvilosta to -13.0 degrees in Zosēni at 5 AM. Some areas may experience mist and light snowfall, while the overall air quality remains moderately acceptable. A gentle breeze predominantly from the southeast will also persist throughout the day.
