HU: A fast food center opens in Helsinki

A joint restaurant featuring Burger King and Taco Bell is set to open in Tikkurila, Helsinki, in March.

In March, a new joint restaurant will be opened in Helsinki's Ala-Tikkurila, featuring Burger King and Taco Bell, according to Helsingin Uutiset (HU). This fast food center will be located at the intersection of Kehä III and Tikkuritien, directly across from a competing McDonald’s. The business development manager of the chains, Siru Kalpio, shared with HU that this will be the first joint restaurant for both brands in Helsinki.

The new establishment will be two stories high and will allow customers to purchase items from both brands through a drive-thru service. This concept of shared facilities is not entirely new; a similar arrangement is already in place in Nihtisilta, Espoo, where Burger King and Taco Bell have successfully operated together, along with another brand, Itsudemo, in the same location.

This opening signifies a trend in the fast food industry to combine popular chains and create more diverse dining options for customers in urban areas like Helsinki. Such developments not only aim to attract more foot traffic but also to offer convenience for consumers who enjoy fast food from different brands without the need to travel to multiple locations.
