Accident in Forstinning: Truck Causes Power Outage

An unknown truck driver caused a power outage in Forstinning while making a careless maneuver, leading to the damage of a power pole.

On a Monday evening, an inattentive truck driver caused a power outage in parts of Forstinning when the truck overturned at the Schwaberwegener intersection around 7:30 PM and collided with a power pole. The driver fled the scene of the accident unnoticed. Following the incident, the power pole was left precariously hanging in a tree on an adjacent property, with concerns that it could fall completely.

Emergency services, including the Poing Police and fire brigades from Markt Schwaben and Forstinning, were called to the scene, and the power was shut off by the energy supplier for safety reasons. A total of nearly 30 responders worked for approximately two hours to secure the power pole. Power was restored within an hour; however, further outages were reported on Tuesday morning due to the necessity of replacing the damaged pole.

The Poing police are investigating the hit and run incident, and they have appealed to witnesses to come forward, providing a contact number for any tips. This incident highlights concerns regarding road safety and the potential dangers posed by reckless driving in populated areas.
