Truck gets caught in wiring and knocks down pole at the health center in Jardim Magnólia, Campinas
A truck became entangled in power lines and knocked down a pole onto the Dr. Estimado Domingues Health Center in Campinas, Brazil, disrupting internet service but not medical care.
A truck got caught in the power lines on Dona Licínia Teixeira de Sousa Street in Jardim Magnólia, Campinas, on Thursday morning, leading to a pole falling onto the Dr. Estimado Domingues Health Center. Fortunately, the city government reported that healthcare services were not interrupted, although internet connectivity to the facility was compromised due to the incident.
The municipal development company, Emdec, indicated that the truck would not face a fine since the street had no height restrictions that would have prevented the vehicle from passing safely. This has raised questions about the adequacy of signage and road conditions to prevent future accidents involving large vehicles in urban areas.
In response to the incident, the Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL) dispatched a team to manage the situation. While repairs were ongoing, they advised that power would be temporarily cut, which could potentially affect some services at the health center until everything is restored to normal operation.
