Tesonet owners have purchased a former mortuary in the capital's Žvėrynas district
The owners of Tesonet have acquired a historic mortuary in Vilnius as a real estate investment, with plans for commercial and cultural projects.
On February 13, Tesonet confirmed the completion of their acquisition of an 81 square meter mortuary located in the Žvėrynas district of Vilnius, Lithuania, as part of a real estate investment. The site, listed as a cultural heritage, presents unique opportunities for development. The property is notable for its potential adaptability to commercial activities and cultural projects, which could enhance the area’s offering in terms of community and economic engagement.
The acquisition comes in the context of increasing interest in the revitalization of historic properties within urban settings. While the initial auction price set by the Property Bank was 540,000 euros, the final sale involved three bidders, indicating a robust market interest in such properties. It reflects a trend where investors are looking to transform underutilized spaces into vibrant community hubs, potentially attracting both locals and tourists.
Additionally, the site’s location is advantageous, being in close proximity to embassies, Vingis Park, and other recreational areas, which could bolster foot traffic and enhance the attractiveness for future commercial or cultural endeavors. With part of the site being an unsecured 50 square meter warehouse, there are ample avenues for expansion or reconstruction, further broadening the scope for future developments in the area.
