Ryu Seok-woo and Park Tae-woo, journalists from Hankyoreh, have been honored with the Special Award at the upcoming 2025 Media Publicity Forum. This recognition is for their impactful reporting and investigative journalism that highlights significant labor issues surrounding the company Coupang. Ryu's award-winning piece, titled 'Experience of Hell at Coupang,' involved him experiencing nighttime delivery labor firsthand, providing an authentic and critical examination of working conditions.

The evaluation committee praised Ryu’s immersive approach in documenting the harsh realities faced by workers, stating that it exemplified the essential watchdog role of journalism. Similarly, Park Tae-woo collaborated with other reporters from MBC and News Tapa on the in-depth report 'Coupang's Crisis Management Response Guidelines,' which scrutinized the unethical response measures taken by the company in light of recurrent employee fatalities.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at 3 PM on the 26th in the Jongno district of Seoul, specifically at the Korea Journalism Foundation.
