Dreaming of Returning to Farming and Rural Living? Experience It with Free Accommodation in Jeungpyeong

Jeungpyeong County in South Korea is offering free accommodation for individuals interested in returning to farming and rural living, allowing them to explore the area and obtain information about agricultural opportunities.

Jeungpyeong County in South Korea is launching an initiative to attract individuals interested in returning to farming and rural living by offering a free accommodation program. This program, announced on the 24th, allows participants to stay for one to two days at a specially developed complex named 'Cheongchun Nongdam Nuri' in the Doan-myeon area. During their stay, guests can engage in counseling sessions and experience the local attractions, which will provide them with valuable insights into farming life in the region.

The free accommodation comprises two studio-style rooms on the second floor of the complex, which was constructed at a cost of approximately 1 billion KRW. While utilizing this offering, guests are required to meet certain conditions: they must visit local sites such as the Janggu Mountain Healing Land, the Jeungpyeong Folk Experience Museum, and the Jeungpyeong County Library to receive confirmation stamps. These visits aim to enhance their understanding of the local culture and environment, ultimately promoting a more informed decision about potential re-settlement.

For those wanting a longer experience, Jeungpyeong has several 'returning farmers' homes' available since 2015 that provide affordable living arrangements for extended stays. Arguably, this initiative not only promotes local agricultural opportunities but also fosters a sense of community that encourages newcomers to envision their future in rural living. Local officials hope that through this program, more individuals will be encouraged to relocate to Jeungpyeong, contributing to a vibrant, sustainable rural community.
