Three people die in collision between truck and car on BR-110 in RN

A tragic road collision on BR-110 in Brazil resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left another severely injured.

A severe traffic accident occurring around 1:30 PM on the BR-110 in Rio Grande do Norte resulted in the deaths of three people, following a head-on collision between a truck-trailer and a Chevrolet Celta car. The collision was reported by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), which stated that the truck veered into the wrong lane before the crash took place.

The victims were all occupants of the passenger car: Francisco Jesuíno Edson da Silva, aged 52, who was driving the car; Francinete de Freitas Pimenta, 68; and her 45-year-old daughter, Aldamara de Freitas Pimenta. While Francisco died at the scene, Francinete and Aldamara, who were trapped in the wreckage, were transported to a hospital in Upanema but succumbed to their injuries despite medical efforts.

Additionally, a 54-year-old passenger in the vehicle was critically injured with multiple traumatic injuries and was taken to the Regional Hospital Tarcísio Maia in Mossoró for further treatment. This tragic event underscores ongoing concerns over road safety in the region, particularly involving heavy vehicles and passenger cars.
