Caravan offers fridge exchanges and discounts on electricity bills to cities in Marajó
A service caravan in the Marajó archipelago will provide fridge exchanges and discounts on electricity bills to residents between February 23 and 26.
Between February 23 and 26, residents of Portel and Bagre in the Marajó Archipelago will have access to a service caravan organized by Equatorial Pará. This initiative focuses on support for local communities, featuring the replacement of 150 old refrigerators through the E+ Geladeira Nova program. In addition to fridge exchanges, residents can register for the Social Electricity Tariff program, which provides lower electricity costs, and participate in professional training courses.
The service caravan will take place at designated venues in both towns: the Francisco Ângelo de Oliveira Sports Court in Portel and the Parish Hall of Santa Maria Church in Bagre, each day from 8:30 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM. This organized effort aims to assist lower-income families by replacing inefficient appliances with newer, energy-efficient models, which can be up to 40% more economical, thereby easing the financial burden associated with electricity bills.
In order to qualify for the fridge exchange program, residents must ensure their current refrigerator is functional and that they have no outstanding debts with the energy company. This initiative not only promotes energy conservation and efficiency but also provides educational opportunities through professional courses designed to empower local residents, contributing to the overall economic development of the region.
