Latvian cross-country skiers returned home from the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, with supporters and family greeting them at Riga Airport.
Latvian cross-country skiers returned home on Monday from the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, greeted by a small crowd of fans, family members, and representatives from the Latvian Olympic Committee at Riga Airport. Among the returning athletes, Patrīcija Eiduka notably achieved the best result for Latvia, securing an impressive 11th place finish in the women's 50-kilometer classical race.
Throughout the Games, Eiduka also performed well in other events, finishing 15th in the women's 10-kilometer free style race and 23rd in the 20-kilometer skiathlon. Raimo Vīgants, another competitor from Latvia, finished 31st in the 50-kilometer event and also participated in the skiathlon and sprint events, placing 51st and 52nd, respectively, and 46th in the 10-kilometer free style race.
The team representing Latvia also included Kitija Auziņa, Linda Kaparkalēja, Samanta Krampe, Lauris Kaparkalējs, and Niks Saulītis. The performance of the athletes has been a source of pride for Latvia, reflecting the nation's competitive spirit and dedication to winter sports despite challenging conditions.
