More modern, cleaner, and less smelly, railway workers promise about the renovated Bratislava main station

Railway officials in Slovakia announce renovations for the main station in Bratislava, aiming to improve facilities such as restrooms and the facade, while noting that the tracks will not be affected by this project.

Minister Jozef Ráž has previously announced the reconstruction of spaces at the main train station in Bratislava. The renovation plans, released in detail, will focus on the facilities within the station rather than the tracks. Key changes include the redevelopment of toilets and the facade of the extension connected to the station. The initial phase of construction is expected to noticeably improve amenities, particularly in restrooms, which travelers frequently use.

One of the first changes passengers will notice is the relocation of the Customer Service Center of the Slovak Railways, moving to new premises opposite the waiting area. The original location of the customer service center will be transformed into new restroom facilities. Following this, current toilets accessed through historical staircases will be updated. According to images provided by the Railway Services of Slovakia, familiar rotating turnstiles will also be removed as part of the renovation.

The existing restrooms currently operated by a private entity will be reintegrated into the railway's management after their renovation. This move signifies a broader effort to enhance passenger comfort and cleanliness in one of the country's key transportation hubs, setting a precedent for future infrastructure improvements across other rail stations in Slovakia.
