More than 500 LED lights replaced on the collectors of Panamericana and General Paz
The municipality of Vicente López has completed the installation of over 560 new LED streetlights to enhance safety and traffic flow on key highways.
The municipality of Vicente López has successfully completed the installation and maintenance of over 560 new LED streetlights on the collectors of the Panamericana and General Paz highways. This project, which was completed in less than 60 days, represents a significant improvement in terms of order, circulation, and safety for local residents. The upgrades address a long-standing community demand that had faced delays due to jurisdictional restrictions until November 2025, when the municipality acquired the authority needed to make such improvements.
The initiative was made possible through an agreement signed with Autopistas del Sol, enabling the local government to commence the work. The project, which began in November and concluded on January 9, replaced outdated lighting systems that had been in place since the 1990s and had not been properly maintained over the years. The shift to LED technology not only enhances visibility for drivers and pedestrians but also results in lower energy consumption and a reduced environmental impact, thereby contributing to sustainability goals.
Beyond the immediate benefits of improved safety and visibility, the upgrade of these lighting systems reflects a proactive approach by local authorities to enhance infrastructure and quality of life for residents. As they work towards addressing public safety concerns, the local government is poised to foster greater trust and engagement from the community, potentially setting a precedent for future infrastructure projects in the region, all of which contribute to the overall development of Vicente López as a modern municipality.
