Seven Sudanese were removed from a bus traveling from Riga

A group of seven Sudanese nationals traveling from Riga to Vilnius were removed from a bus by border guards in Lithuania due to illegal immigration concerns.

On Saturday morning, Lithuanian border guards from the VSAT Pagėgiai border unit conducted checks on a bus traveling the Riga-Vilnius route. Among the passengers, they found a group of seven men claiming to be citizens of Sudan, aged between 20 and 36. These individuals did not possess any documents that would legally allow them to enter or reside in Lithuania or any other Schengen Area country. They were returning to Latvia as asylum seekers under the jurisdiction of the Latvian authorities.
