Driver dies and two young people are injured after car crashes into pole in Três Rios

A 38-year-old driver died in a car accident in Três Rios, Brazil, after colliding with a pole, while two passengers were seriously injured.

In a tragic incident on Sunday night, a 38-year-old driver lost his life after the car he was operating crashed into a pole on the Rio-Bahia highway in Três Rios, RJ. The accident occurred around 7:20 PM in the Moura Brasil neighborhood. Despite the immediate response from emergency services, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The two passengers, both aged 22, sustained serious injuries and were rescued by the Fire Department. They were transported to the Hospital de Clínicas Nossa Senhora da Conceição for critical care, where they continue to be treated. Authorities are monitoring their condition and have reached out to the hospital for further updates. Following the accident, police conducted an investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the crash. A forensic team was dispatched to gather evidence and clarify the dynamics of the event. The driver's body was subsequently taken to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) in Petrópolis for formal examination and autopsy.
