Cutie Alert: Dogs, Cats, and Even a Chick Participate in Traditional Costume Contest in RS
A pet costume contest featuring dogs, a cat, and a chick took place in Bagé, Brazil, promoting traditional culture while supporting a charitable cause.
On Sunday, a unique pet costume contest was held at the Centro de Tradições Gaúchas (CTG) Prenda Minha in Bagé, Brazil, showcasing a delightful array of eleven pets, including dogs, a cat, and a chick. The event not only highlighted the charm of local culture but also had a charitable aspect, as all participants were dressed in traditional Gaúcha attire, enhancing community spirit through shared traditions.
The contest was organized by the management of traditionalist groups in the 18th Traditionalist Region and aimed to promote Gaúcha culture through a fun and engaging activity. Each pet's owner contributed by donating one kilogram of pet food as an entry fee, which would be donated to rescue animals in need, thus combining an entertaining event with a meaningful social impact.
The highlight of the event was the crowning of Lorde, a dog from the native arts group Campo Aberto, as the grand winner. This initiative not only illustrated the bond between pets and their owners but also emphasized the spirit of community and charity, demonstrating how local events can enhance social welfare through creativity and engagement with cultural traditions.
