Latvia University introduces co-funded study places in 20 programs
Latvia University has introduced co-funded study places across 20 bachelor's and master's programs in response to the need for state-significant or unique education fields.
Latvia University (LU) has announced the introduction of co-funded study places in 20 undergraduate and master's programs. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility to higher education in fields deemed nationally significant or unique. The new placements will be available across four faculties: the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technologies, the Faculty of Humanities, and the Faculty of Law.
The co-funded study places will cover various disciplines, including Business Management, Political Science, Sociology, Communication Science, Information Management, and Social Work at the bachelor's level. At the master's level, programs will include Economics, Management, Diplomacy, Spatial Development Planning, Law, and several humanities-related studies. In total, 214 co-funded study places will be available, signifying an important step toward improving educational accessibility in Latvia.
This move is significant for LU as it reflects a strategic shift towards fostering specific academic fields that are important for the countryโs development and societal needs. By making higher education more affordable in these key areas, LU aims to attract a broader student base and ensure that graduates are well-equipped to contribute effectively to the labor market and society, ultimately driving economic growth and innovation in Latvia.
