Threat to blow up Red Fort-Delhi Assembly, email linked to Khalistani group
Delhi police received a bomb threat via email targeting the Delhi Assembly and Red Fort, allegedly sent by a Khalistani group, prompting an alert from security agencies.
On Monday, the Delhi police were alerted by a threatening email that warned of a bomb intended for the Delhi Assembly and Red Fort. The email purportedly originated from a Khalistani group, leading security agencies to heighten their alert levels in response. Following the threat, a thorough search operation was conducted in the vicinity of the Delhi Assembly, where bomb squads and other security agencies carried out extensive checks; however, no suspicious objects were found during the searches.
Despite the lack of any harmful materials during the investigations, the Delhi police stated that precautionary measures were being taken seriously. The email concerning the bomb threat is currently under investigation to identify its source and sender. Additionally, the cyber cell has been engaged in the case, emphasizing that they are closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety and security.
In a related situation, Aam Aadmi Party leader and former MLA Dilip Pandey also received a death threat via his personal email. He reported this threatening message to the Delhi police, highlighting the increasingly tense atmosphere surrounding public safety in the region. The police are taking these threats seriously, and effective measures are being pursued to investigate these incidents and ensure the security of public figures and locations of significance.
