A wildfire that broke out in Hamyang, South Korea, on the evening of the 21st has continued for three days, prompting the government to declare a second-stage response for the first time this year. This level of response is issued when it is anticipated that the burned area will exceed 100 hectares. According to the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, as of 6 AM on the 23rd, the containment of the fire was at only 32%. The area affected by the wildfire is reported to have reached 226 hectares, leading to the evacuation of 163 residents. To combat the flames, the government has mobilized 51 helicopters and over 750 personnel for firefighting efforts.
