The Bahia Court of Justice (TJ-BA) has announced that applications for a selection process to form a reserve list for the role of lay judge will open on March 23, and applicants can register until March 26. The registration process is exclusively online via the Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) website, which is responsible for organizing the selection. The official notice of this process was published in the Electronic Justice Diary earlier this month.

The selection aims to create a reserve of up to 831 candidates, with specific percentages allocated for people with disabilities (5%) and for black candidates (30%). It is important to note that, while a large pool of candidates is sought, there are currently no immediate vacancies. The number of anticipated appointments is based on previous selections, indicating the judiciary's plan to have a ready list of potential judges for future openings. The role comes with a competitive salary that can reach R$ 11,135.67.

Applicants will be required to pay a registration fee of R$ 120, which may be waived for those who meet certain criteria. This selection process reflects ongoing efforts by the judiciary in Bahia to enhance representation and diversity within its ranks while preparing for future judicial vacancies.
