Kirsti Paakkas' items auctioned off – A fierce battle for one dress
Kirsti Paakkas' fashion collection was auctioned, fetching high prices for items including a Christian Dior necklace and a blue dress.
Kirsti Paakkas, a well-known Finnish entrepreneur and owner of Marimekko, held the first part of her fashion collection auction on Sunday. The event garnered significant interest, showcasing a range of high-end fashion pieces that attracted numerous bids, emphasizing the enduring appeal of designer items in the auction market.
Among the standout items was a black necklace by Christian Dior, designed by John Galliano, which received 54 bids and ultimately sold for 7,200 euros, surprising many attendees with its final price. Additionally, a blue evening gown, also by Galliano for Dior, fetched 6,706 euros after 53 bids, illustrating the competitive nature of the auction environment.
Other notable sales included a Chanel handbag from 2010, which sold for 6,601 euros after 40 bids, and a black evening gown by Christian Dior that received an impressive 92 bids, culminating in a final price of 5,285 euros. The auction highlights not only the value of these luxury items but also the keen interest among fashion enthusiasts in Finland, setting the stage for future events in the series.
