The first auction of the late fashion mogul Kirsti Paakkanen's collection took place on Sunday, showcasing a variety of high-end fashion pieces. Notably, the standout item was an impressive black necklace designed by British designer John Galliano for Christian Dior, which fetched a remarkable price of 7,200 euros after attracting 54 bids. This jewelry piece began with a minimum bid of 1,000 euros, highlighting the high demand and collector interest surrounding Paakkanen's collection.
Additionally, another creation by Galliano—a long evening gown detailed with golden patterns on a blue base—sold for 6,706 euros, far exceeding its starting price of 400 euros. Each piece in the auction not only represents luxury fashion but also tells a story, as many items were worn by Paakkanen during prestigious events, including her 90th birthday celebration, where a black Christian Dior blazer fetched 5,600 euros from an initial bid of 500 euros.
