Tomašević will spend nearly 100,000 euros for the analysis of local councils
The City of Zagreb has announced that it will spend almost 100,000 euros for an interdisciplinary analysis of its local self-government system, aimed at improving the understanding and efficiency of local councils and committees.
The City of Zagreb has completed an open public procurement process for an interdisciplinary analysis of its local self-government system, which will be conducted over nine months at a cost of nearly 100,000 euros. This analysis is being carried out by IT PRAXIS d.o.o. and the Institute for Development and International Relations, which previously created a cultural development plan earlier this year.
The goal of the analysis is to assess the effectiveness of the current model of local governance and propose improvements in legal, organizational, financial, and participatory aspects. Municipal officials, including Andro Pavuna, the head of the City Office for Local Self-Government, have emphasized that the results of this analysis will lay the groundwork for future activities and reforms within the city's self-governance structure.
Officials expressed hopes that this initiative will create a more efficient, fair, and accessible system for citizens, ensuring better functionality of city districts and local councils. By focusing on enhancing the understanding and operation of these local bodies, Zagreb aims to improve overall governance and community involvement in decision-making processes.
