Civil Police shuts down clandestine gun factory and seizes drugs with cousins in Boa Vista

The Roraima Civil Police dismantled a clandestine gun factory and arrested two cousins for drug-related offenses in Boa Vista.

The Civil Police of Roraima (PCRR) took action in Boa Vista by shutting down a clandestine factory manufacturing handmade firearms and seizing illegal drugs. The operation took place on Friday, during which police arrested two cousins, aged 23 and 28, in connection to the gun factory and drug trafficking activities. The operation was initiated following a tip-off regarding drug trafficking in the Centenário neighborhood of Boa Vista.

During the investigation, a 23-year-old suspect was apprehended in the Centenário neighborhood, where law enforcement officials discovered an artisanal firearm, cocaine, and a precision scale in his possession. Upon interrogation, he revealed that he had purchased the weapon from his cousin, a 28-year-old resident of the Airton Rocha neighborhood. This led the police to the second cousin's residence, where the authorities uncovered enough evidence to suggest that he had been involved in the fabrication and sale of firearms.

At the 28-year-old's home, police discovered various tools and components used for assembling firearms, solidifying the operation's classification as a clandestine factory. The dismantling of this criminal operation underscores the ongoing battle against illegal arms and drug trafficking in the region, reflecting the persistent challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in curbing organized crime in Brazil.
