Bloco da Vida receives Unidos do Viradouro to share the avenue next Saturday in Volta Redonda
Bloco da Vida will perform alongside Unidos do Viradouro in Volta Redonda next Saturday.
Bloco da Vida, a traditional carnival block in Volta Redonda, Brazil, is set to perform alongside the prestigious samba school Unidos do Viradouro, which has notably won four championships in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival. This collaborative event will take place on Saturday, the 28th, starting at 8 PM on Rua 14 in the Vila Santa Cecília neighborhood. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of local culture and carnival spirit, showcasing both the community and professional performances.
The Bloco da Vida will kick off the evening with their performance, which will feature the samba-enredo titled 'Baile de Máscaras.' This act will involve around 600 participants, organized into various sections including allegorical floats, a front commission, a flag bearer, and highlights such as a carnival queen and other notable dancers. This display aims to replicate the excitement and pageantry of the carnival's main events, resonating deeply with the local community's traditions and festive atmosphere.
Following their performance, the Unidos do Viradouro, hailing from Niterói, will take the stage. Known for their impressive track record in competitive samba parades, the school plans to pay tribute to the renowned Mestre Ciça, a respected figure who has been instrumental in their successes during the carnival. This event not only signifies a fusion of local and elite samba traditions but also underscores the importance of community engagement in maintaining and celebrating Brazil's rich cultural heritage during the carnival season.
