Hungary has announced its intention to block the European Union's 20th sanctions package against Russia in a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó. The backdrop to Hungary's decision includes disruptions in oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzjba pipeline, which have been ongoing since January 27 due to damage from a Russian drone strike, as reported by Ukraine. Hungary and Slovakia have accused Ukraine of deliberately delaying the resumption of oil flows through the pipeline, contributing to Hungary's firm stance on the issue.

Szijjártó emphasized that Hungary's decision to block the sanctions is a direct consequence of Ukraine's actions regarding oil supplies. He stated that Hungary will refuse to support decisions meaningful to the Ukrainian government until it allows oil to flow back to Hungary and Slovakia.
