The occupation launches 7 airstrikes on Gaza and the humanitarian situation in the tents worsens
The Israeli military conducted seven airstrikes in Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis amidst ongoing violence and displacement in the region.
The Israeli military carried out seven airstrikes at dawn on Sunday, targeting residential buildings in Rafah and the northern Gaza Strip, further escalating the violence in the area. This comes following reports of two Palestinians being killed by Israeli forces in Khan Younis and Jabalia north of the Gaza Strip. The strikes were accompanied by artillery shelling, and the Israeli army claimed to have killed a militant approaching their forces in the northern part of the region.
Since the ceasefire agreement was enacted on October 10, Israel has reportedly violated the truce hundreds of times, resulting in the deaths of 612 Palestinians and injuries to 1640 others. These figures highlight the intensity of the ongoing conflict and the toll it is taking on the civilian population. As violence persists, numerous families have been displaced from their homes, forcing them to live in inadequate conditions, including flimsy tents or even in the open air.
On the humanitarian front, Amjad Al-Shawa, head of the Palestinian NGO network, expressed concerns over the lack of portable homes entering Gaza, despite the extensive humanitarian needs faced by the displaced population. He accused the Israeli military of maintaining control over critical aid supplies, thus worsening the crisis. This neglect is intensifying the suffering of thousands of families who are left without sufficient shelter or support during a crucial time of need.
