Explosions and Bombardment in Gaza and Ongoing Restrictions on Humanitarian Aid
Israeli airstrikes and artillery bombardment have intensified across various regions of Gaza, with ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid entrance.
Early Friday, the Israeli military conducted extensive airstrikes and artillery fire across northern, central, and southern regions of the besieged Gaza Strip, continuing to impose stringent restrictions on humanitarian aid delivery. Eyewitness accounts reported Israeli warplanes executing two airstrikes within the yellow line, specifically targeting the Shuja'iyya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods in eastern Gaza City. Concurrently, intense gunfire was directed at homes and displaced persons' tents in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, alongside sporadic artillery shelling.
In the central Gaza Strip, the Israeli army carried out severe demolition operations on buildings and facilities along the yellow line in the area of Al-Bureij refugee camp, following hours of heavy gunfire and land leveling near the Abu Ataya roundabout. The yellow line serves as a temporary delineation established by ceasefire agreements, delineating areas where Israeli forces are present - encompassing approximately 53% of the eastern Gaza Strip - and zones where Palestinians are permitted to move freely toward the western region.
Further eastern areas of Khan Younis, situated in the southern part of Gaza, also experienced heavy weapon fire from Israeli military vehicles. Meanwhile, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) expressed concerns over the ongoing humanitarian crisis as it strives to deliver much-needed aid under the current strict Israeli restrictions.
