The life of a man severely injured in an accident in the Vilnius region has ended in the hospital
A man, severely injured in a car accident in the Vilnius region, has died in the hospital from his injuries.
On Thursday at approximately 7:58 PM in Galiniai village, located near Vilnius, a severe car accident occurred on the Vilnius-Lyda road. A 1957-born man driving a Volvo S60 lost control, veered into oncoming traffic, and collided with a Scania truck driven by a man born in 1989. The impact was catastrophic, leading to the extensive injuries of the Volvo driver, who was subsequently transported to a hospital in Vilnius.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the 66-year-old Volvo driver succumbed to his injuries on February 22 at 5:20 AM. This tragic incident highlights ongoing issues related to road safety and adherence to traffic regulations in Lithuania. As a result of the accident, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the violation of traffic rules.
