Israel Intensifies the Rate of Demolition of Palestinian Homes in Area C
Israel is increasing the pace of demolitions of Palestinian homes in Area C, with several houses being destroyed amid clashes with security forces.
On January 8, three Israeli bulldozers entered the city of Nablus, accompanied by Border Police jeeps and an administrative vehicle, to demolish homes in the al-Taiwon neighborhood. Reports indicate that officers fired tear gas at journalists and residents to prevent them from approaching the demolitions, which involved the destruction of homes belonging to families such as the Hattab and al-Abad. This incident was not isolated, as just days prior, the home of the al-Saber family also faced demolition. Many homes in the area are at risk of destruction due to lack of building permits from the Israeli authorities, even though the neighborhood is close to organized neighborhoods in Nablus and away from any settlements or access roads.
