'We will retaliate at the right time...', Afghan Taliban warns Pakistan over airstrikes
The Afghan Taliban has issued a warning to Pakistan regarding its airstrikes, claiming to assess the situation and preparing for a possible retaliation following an escalation of tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has reacted strongly to recent airstrikes by Pakistan, claiming that these actions violate Afghan sovereignty and result in civilian casualties. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid stated that the Pakistani military has intruded into Afghan territory, specifically mentioning airstrikes that killed and injured many, including women and children, in the Nangarhar and Paktika provinces. This situation has raised concerns about heightened tensions along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border once again.
The Taliban has reported that at least 19 members of a single family were killed in the Pakistani airstrikes, which they have criticized as a desperate attempt by the Pakistani military to address its internal security issues through aggression against Afghanistan. The government’s representatives are currently assessing the scale of the damage caused by these attacks, indicating a methodical approach to their response.
While the Taliban has not yet made an immediate announcement regarding their response, the leadership has hinted at potential retaliatory measures. This development signifies an escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two nations, with implications on regional security dynamics, especially concerning the sensitive border areas that have historically been sites of tension and conflict.
