In a shocking case from Kedrapara district of Odisha, India, five teachers from a private school have been arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl. The incident came to light after the victim's parents filed complaints with the local district child welfare committee, along with the victim herself. It is alleged that the teachers had been abusing the girl for an extended period before the parents became aware of the situation and sought assistance from the authorities.

The girl, who is in the seventh grade, reportedly suffered ongoing abuse at the hands of these teachers. Following reports from the child's father and the child welfare committee, a preliminary investigation was conducted by the committee, which resulted in transferring the case to the local police for further action. According to Swagatika Patra, a member of the child welfare committee, the complaint was officially filed on February 18, and the police were notified within 48 hours after an initial investigation.

Local police, specifically Inspector Sanjay Malik from the Rajkanika police station, has confirmed the arrests and is looking into the details of the case. The district education officer has also been asked by the child welfare committee to carry out a separate inquiry into the matter. This case raises serious concerns about the safety of children in educational institutions and highlights the need for stricter measures to protect students from such heinous crimes.
